Planning for future growth with new appointment

Sam Hallworth (pictured) has strengthened the team at Truro-based Orbiss and will work alongside company directors Karen McGowan and Karen Patterson, as they embark on major expansion into the hotel technology sector.
The 37-year old from Newquay joins the business from another telecommunications company where he has worked for around ten years. He takes responsibility for growing business system sales in the South West, as well as raising the profile of its new pioneering combined movies-on-demand, IPTV, internet and entertainment system ‘Clarity’ for hotel guestrooms – the only technology of its kind in the marketplace.

The unique entertainment and communications platform for hotel and leisure businesses, developed in Cornwall, is just one part of the company’s overall business of supplying, installing and maintaining fully-integrated hospitality systems.

Originally from Cornwall, Sam’s first telecoms job was with Orbiss when it was known as Western Telecom. Sam, who joined in April this year, has a wealth of specialist experience in technical sales having started out in the industry at the age of 19.
Sam says he is on a mission to make the company the market leader, “The difference with Orbiss is that we can design and deliver solutions that are as unique as the hotel and as individual as their guests. Sam joins the strong team at Orbiss and will provide close account management to the company’s existing business and hotel customers, as well as develop opportunities for their clients.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his family as well as a number of outdoor pursuits including snowboarding and rock climbing. He also races yachts from Fowey in Cornwall and surfs almost every day – even in winter!
